Clinical Evaluations
Narrative Evidence for Complex Legal Cases
At In The Mind LLC, I provide comprehensive clinical evaluations for individuals and families across Arizona, Oregon and Washington.
My goal is to bridge the gap between your personal experience and the legal requirements of the court, ensuring your story is heard with dignity and clinical precision.
The Process: What to Expect
An evaluation is more than a single meeting; it is a collaborative clinical deep-dive.
Clinical Interviews: Usually consisting of two to three hours of conversation (via secure telehealth) where we discuss your personal, medical, and family history.
Standardized Assessment: I utilize evidence-based psychological tools to provide objective data regarding anxiety, depression, medical and trauma symptoms.
Attorney Collaboration: I work closely with your legal team to ensure the report addresses any and all issues. You and your attorney will receive a rigorous, professional document that utilizes a psychosocial framework to complete your medical and mental health history with current clinical research and with cultural competency.
Forensic Clinical Evaluations
We bridge the gap between clinical diagnosis and legal outcomes, ensuring the court and probation departments accurately receive a defendant’s psychological profile.
Veterans Court: Specialized evaluations link military service-related trauma (PTSD/TBI) to court eligibility and rehabilitation plans.
Drug & Alcohol Court: Conduct dual-diagnosis assessments to identify underlying mental health triggers and facilitate entry into treatment-focused legal tracks.
Clinical Attorney Consults and Retainers: Reviewing records and opposing expert reports to find inconsistencies or psychological nuances that can be used during litigation.
Sentence Advocacy - Pre-Sentence Reports: Clinical assessments for probation and sentencing mitigation to support alternatives to incarceration. These evaluations are also tailored for Specialty Courts, such as Veterans Court and Drug and Alcohol Court, where clinical insight into rehabilitation and specialized treatment needs is critical for legal outcomes.

I have completed Advanced Immigration Evaluation Training under Cecilia Racine, LCSW, a leader in the field of forensic mental health. This specialized training ensures that my evaluations are not only clinically sound but are constructed to meet the high evidentiary standards of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and USCIS.
